Creating a Story with Music

I just completed my first CD.  It's released and available to purchase at www.reinholdtproductions.ca.  Putting this CD together was an incredible experience - a story that I am excited to share.

One of the things about being a creative person that I have been learning is that creativity is born when I pay attention to what is around me.  Here is what I mean...

I have been playing the piano since I was 3.  So that is 37 years this month.  (Happy Birthday to me!) And I have learned to express myself well on the piano with whatever I am playing.  I play at weddings, funerals, church services, and community events.

A couple of years ago, I began to notice a trend in the responses that people had when I played the piano.  I would hear regularly the following comment "I could listen to you all day, Wanda".  And I began to think about that and to wonder what that really meant.

I came to realize that a repeated comment like this was a key and a hint to the kinds of creative work that could flow from me.  Here is what the comment helped me to notice:

1.  People love to sit and listen to me play and could probably do it for a long while.  It is important that they are comfortable.
2.  There is a genuine love for the piano music that I play and the expression that I play with.  My music is colorful.
3.  There is a particular love for the music I play that reflects faith and belief in the Great Creator.  Providing some instrumental music of great songs of faith would be very attractive to many.
4.  I have a rich heritage and story of faith and music that goes back through time.  It would be fabulous to celebrate this faith through a collection of pieces.

From this place, the story in music "I Could Listen All Day" was created.  I am proud to present this piece to the world.  Thank you to my mother for my piano and music heritage.  Thank you to my parents for my faith and spiritual heritage.  And thank you to the Great Creator for inspiring this in me.
